The Holiday Project

The Holiday Project specifically addresses the high levels of deprivation in the region—where 30 communities rank within the most deprived 15% in Scotland—by providing affordable respite breaks.
We aim to support those on low incomes or unemployment, including families, single parents, carers, people with disabilities and organised community groups such as the Kinship Carers. We welcome referrals from our social services, community and family support workers, and other East Ayrshire support groups and organisations.
Beyond providing a holiday, the project aims to:
  • Improve physical and mental health.
  • Improve the general welfare of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable.
  • Increase bonding and interaction within the family unit.
  • Increase social inclusion.
  • Reduce isolation
  • Increase confidence and well-being.
  • Give a real holiday experience in particular to children, which they might never have experience.
  • Create happy, positive, long lasting memories!
